Thanks for all the nice comments everyone! It really was a great night! Our formal committee had been saving for two years for that night and raised over £10000 which was amazing! We organised loads of pre formals to raise the money. Was well worth it! I will soon be getting some more photos from the "after party" which is basically walking to the hotel, getting side tracked as we see a bar, go into the bar, drink, try to find hotel, find hotel, find hotel bar, then get more drink and then everyone goes to the rooms lol.

maybe the laws are different...i know that here its 18 but next year im goin to germany with the school, and over there u can drink at 16, so if we get permission we're allowed to drink! *cough*, just a few of course and im 16 just before me go, so goodi!

Yeah we have to be over 18 to drink here. But because most people in my school year are already 18 they just assumed everyone was 18. Plus there is the great advantage of having a fake id!!

You can always tell when it's prom time here. All the high schools put wrecked cars out in front of the school to remind the kids not to drink and drive. Lovely image, that!

Sadly my school has had a bad history with students being killed in car accidents. Are are school has a very strong community so deaths of our students is always a great shock. We actually put up posters in our common room regarding drink driving coming up to to the formal and the student formal committee in their speeche on the night mentioned it as well.
