Missed this one! I emailed him the night of the 8th. Haven't gotten a reply yet. But he may be in the middle of college exams (bummer) or he may, like me, have had bad weather keeping him off the computer. I'm having to go on in between the thunderstorms, so he may be on limited use also. I'll sure be glad to hear from him, tho! I'm worried!

Just heard from him! He's been in the middle of finals and up to his hears in it. He said he "feels loved" because we missed him and that he will be back to posting soon! Whew! I'm glad he's just busy!

Hey everybody!
I've finally gotten a break from everything. The next paragraph is a bit of a rant, so skip it if you wish.
Lately I've been working on both my father's and my brother's houses. It's tough. Together it's about 3 acres of land and I seem to be the sole person landscaping. They both want some special kind of grass so I have to cut what we have out there now nearly to the dirt. Then I poison it to kill virtually everything. Then I put lime down to balance the pH. After that, I seed it and water it the next day. Once it starts sprouting, I fertilize it. I've put 1000 lbs. of fertilizer on each lawn. Since the fertilizer's been down, the grass has grown so very fast. Each yard has to be cut every 4 days, poisoned every 3 weeks, and fertilized every 4 or 5 weeks. Lime has to be put down whenever the grass seems lighter than it should. Did I mention that I use a push-mower and a manual spreader for the fertilizer/lime that only holds 50 lbs. at a time? Believe me, it's not been a fun summer so far.
Well, for those of you who don't know me, I'm Pel. I joined when the site first opened, one of the first 10 members I believe. I'm so happy that it's grown by leaps and bounds!! There are so many new people with different views and ideas that it's absolutely mind-boggling. I hope I'll get to know you all in time. The sheer volume of posts is overwhelming and I'll be trying my best to catch up, but I welcome anyone to send me a message so I'll be better able to meet you individually. When I'm going through the introduction posts, it seems awkward to reply to older posts when the member is already established with everyone else and their identity is known to all but me.
See you all again as soon as I can! Wishing you all the best, Pel

First 10 or less in fact! How did the testing go? oh yes, the testing ... hmm ... I think for the past semester, not just the testing times, fate has been screaming that I'm moving in the wrong direction. I feel I need time to sort things out, but the clock never slows. I plan on moving home to go to the University of Memphis for a year or so. At least I'll be in familiar surroundings with people I've known for years. I don't have a set goal in mind for a career yet; I'm going to base my class selections on classes that interest me, that's the highest priority. Then after I find what I like, I'll see under what majors the classes fall and narrow things down from there. I know I should've done this starting out, but I couldn't see past the idea of becoming a doctor. I may still walk that path, but right now I wouldn't be doing it for the right reasons. I'd only want the title and the respect/admiration it bestows.
