Tyger, Tyger, burning bright, In the forests of the night: What immortal hand or eye, Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies Burnt the fire of thine eyes? On what wings dare he aspire? What the hand dare sieze the fire?
And what shoulder, & what art, Could twist the sinews of thy heart? And when thy heart began to beat, What dread hand? & what dread feet?
What the hammer? what the chain? In what furnace was thy brain? What the anvil? what dread grasp, Dare its deadly terrors clasp?
When the stars threw down their spears And water'd heaven with their tears: Did he smile his work to see? Did he who made the Lamb make thee?
Tyger, Tyger, burning bright, In the forests of the night: What immortal hand or eye, Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

I had never heard of that until yesterday... when i was reading my book... It's strange how things like this happen...lol. haha too true. That poem pops into my head a lot. I've got this book called Blake's Poetry and Designs that has all of his works in it, as well as images of his original engravings and illustrations. From time to time, I start thinking that he who made "The Lamb" really did make "The Tyger" as well, since Blake technically wrote both poems himself. And just today, I thought that maybe the Tyger doesn't represent Satan as it's sometimes said. The Bible calls Jesus the "Lamb of God", but Satan is usually represented as a type of serpent. Why wouldn't Blake use a similar image in his poem? Maybe the Tyger isn't Satan at all, but man instead. Don't laugh at me if it already seems obvious to you!!! It felt almost like a profound thought to me.
