Forever Changed-poem I wrote in 2002
On glimmering metal wings it flew
The shock and numbing pain it would cause,
No one knew
With a fiery crash of metal and flame
Our lives were forever changed
We cried and gasped in utter dismay
As we listened and watched
Our lives were forever changed
The grief and sorrow carving deep in our hearts
As a beautiful day suddenly turned dark
Our lives were forever changed
A nation once divided
now rose up in once voice
having decided
That Our lives were forever changed
Of those left behind
A new strength of will and purpose was born
of the smoke, ash, tears and pain
and Lives were forever changed
A nation of hearts and souls came to gether
on our blessed shores
To give meaning to the sacrafices that were made
by those of the slain
For out of the darkest moments of our lives
Are they for ever changed
