several times a year a local church will put up a mini-graveyard with about 100 tiny white crosses. each one represents 12 abortions in our local area. its very shocking to see all those lil crosses.
any thoughts on this?

It is saddening indeed. Abortion is something i find very hard to defend.

I abhor the practice of demonizing a woman who makes a personal and private decision concerning her own body.

apparently its easier in this town to just let them be barefoot and pregnant at 12.

I'm with Marcus on this one, its something thats hard to defend. Now don't get me wrong I'm not one of those people who feel there are no valid reasons to have an abortion, but it seems sometimes now that people are using it as a form of birth control and that would be where my issue is I suppose.

Well, we could get into an abortion debate here, I suppose. I confess I take issue with the man walking away and the woman being left to make such a choice. If there were better options, there might be less abortions. I still say, however, it is a personal and private matter and should be left that way.

I value life and I would never do an Abbortion myself but it is a very personal thing that should be left as such...

I think it is sad a church does that. They are just trying to make women feel bad. Why not do something to change things so women don't feel they have to have an abortion, instead of making them feel bad about it?

Im in agreement with John. I hate seeing abortions as being used as a form of "birth control". I could understand a woman having an abortion because she was raped, or if a young girl got pregnant and was far to young to be a mother. But when i here of a woman who is mature and who has money has an abortion I can see no reason to defend them.

Marcus, I appreciate what you are saying but we can never truly speak to what another person is facing or feeling. As a woman who has given birth to two beautiful children and who has also experienced a miscarriage, I doubt there are many women who truly use abortion as a means of birth-control only. There is always more to the story and it is a very personal story.

I dont think it should Only be up to the women though!! a man should have a say in what happens to a part of him, even if it isnt in his body. I could never have an abortion myself,..... but if i was pregent as a cause of me being raped i,well i dont know what id do but,I would atleast like the one option,
heavy subject dudes

And, I know several women who agonized over the decision and were left alone to make the choice on their own. Again, personal, private and something we should not judge in another person. Until you walk in their shoes, do you feel truly worthy to judge them?
