Why don't we set up a photobucket account under PaganMystics and offer to set up avatars for those who want personalized ones. Mine is from photobucket, so I know it will work.

How would me make the password public to the new members though? I mean I can send e-mails to everyone but I'm talking about members who havn't registered yet, people would just keep getting the same e-mail.

Well, I tested the avatar page, it works, It's just complicated. When a person chooses something from the drop down menu, they need to make absolutely sure that there is no URL in the box that says Avatar URL. That box locks the image and won't let in another one...If very many more have a problem though, we'll make both options available.

Why don't we just make sticky post that says AVATAR PASSWORD, post it and lock it. That way we can just send everyone to the proper post to get into photobucket.

Okay (head banging on desk), let's assume for a moment that I have absolutely no idea how to do this. I have a picture on photobucket. I copy and paste the url using the full 'http:..' into that line of my profile but the picture is not showing up and the url disappears even after I've modified the profile with it there. So, I should have done....what?
Edited to say... Obviously it worked, though it doesn't show on my profile page. I'll just go ice my forehead now.... (slinking away, shaking head in wonder...)

Some avatars just don't work for us here for some reason, though if the image is hosted through photobuckett it usually works. I know how you feel Wren, when we started this site I couldn't even post a picture, smiley, or avatar...So yeah, there were days I'd knock myself cold on my keyboard. But the picture you have as an avatar is the one you want then? If not post the hosted URL and I'll modify it in for you if you like.
