I study the Irish systems, and have recently expanded my studies into the Scottish and Welsh systems as well. My question is how many and who do we have that are interested in Celtic folk ways and magic?

Did you know Morrigan had two maybe three sisters? These were Babd, Macha, and maybe Nemain. These were the battle goddesses of the Tuatha de Danann.

I wonder if you two can tell me the three forms the Morrígan took in her effort to defeat Cú Chulainn in the The Táin?

in the Tain Bo Cuailnge queen Medb attacked Ulster to steal the bull Donn Cuailnge. Morrigan meets the bull in the form of a crow to warn him. in between combats between Cuchullain and Medb, Morrigan appears to him as a young girl offering love but he rejects it. so she intervenes first as a crow i think? nope, eel, and trips him, then as a wolf who leads a herd of cows stampeding to him, then as the cow who leads the stampede...cuchullain wounds her in each form and she returns as an old lady with the wounds who is milking a cow, gives him 3 drinks of milk. he blesses her with each one then he heals her of her wounds.... am i right? lol gotat go nows gunna get in troubel..too late u see

Though didn't Morrígan come to Cú Chulainn as a crow after having secured his death? Morrígan is a manifestation of the extremes of sexual desire and viciousness, she delights in fear in all it's most terrifing forms. Could be that all she saw in Cú Chulainn was that he was the ultimate bringer of carnage on the battle field...In this way they're a match made in heaven. Heres a bit I wrote on another site, on a "Crones and Sages" board...In short you seem to have secured more knowledge than many twice your age...You should be proud. Morrígan (her sisters being Badb, Macha, and possibly Nemain) is a member of the Tuatha de Danann who appears through the Táin Bó Cuailnge as an eel to trip Cú Chulainn son of Lugh Lamfada (aka Samildánach) as he fought in battle, as a wolf to stampede the cattle and trample him, and as a red heifer again to stampede the cattle. Once she finally secures his death, she comes to settles on him in the form of a raven, as she is a master in "fith-fath" or shapeshifting, appearing also as a beautiful young lady, a hag, or as any other creature. She also has many aspects such as: -battle -victory -sexuality -fertility -sovereignty -destruction -death I mention death only because she also appears at a stream washing a shroud of those who are about to pass to the island to the west, in this way she is a form of Ban-Sidhe who also shares many of her prophecies with those she means to help.

I love studying and taking part in celtic traditions. I am a celtic free spirit. I love celtic philophosy and love the celtic deities. I will hopefully be going on to study Archaeology, Celtic Civilisation and Celtic Languages next year at university so I will really come to understand the path i have chosen.

I have been putting some money back for some more on line courses myself. Though you'll do much better going to a school where the teachers can give you one on one attention. It does me well to hear you say that Marcus, you and Ihrian both should consider it actually.
