I get the feeling you've got some poetry too and your holding out..*shakes finger* Im not very good at poetry but i write essays on just the thoughts in my head. I would be sitting thinking of a topic and would just start writing. I posted a thing in the poetry section under the title "our lady calls to scathanna" which was just a glimpse at some song lyrics i wrote. Tis poetry i guess. Often times the poetry of a bard was put to music by harpists and other musical means. The Dagda (the Druid of the gods) was a harpist, Senbecc was a harpist, all the greatest poets and druids in the texts were great musicians.

I am going to start studying the bodhran on my own when the kids skip back to school and I have actual HOURS by myself again. Would love to learn the hammered dulcimer and the harp. Think wishing counts?

*Sigh* Alas, I am not a musician but in my heart. I am going to start studying the bodhran on my own when the kids skip back to school and I have actual HOURS by myself again. Would love to learn the hammered dulcimer and the harp. Think wishing counts? Well why don't you then? Nothing ventured nothing gained right? Why don't I learn dulcimer and harp? Cost. Even a kit for a hammered dulcimer is in the $400-range. While I would not hesitate to sit before either instrument and do the hours it would take to learn, I have neither at my disposal. Until then, I shall tarry with the bodhran and hope the other two, or other instruments I have yet to consider, put themselves in my path...
