i have never experienced drugs. i have little regret about that. it was hard to say NO, constantly around my friends. i drank, but i didnt see that as the same thing. i could control that. i feared drugs because i couldnt control that. i didnt know how my body would respond. how has this effected your life? have you chose to be drug free? do you use drugs on a "recreational" basis? or do you use it to "connect with your gods"`

There was a stage when I use to take alot of Marijuana and even magic mushrooms. My friends and I would have allways went up the mourne mountains and just lay down, put on the radio and then camp out in the mountains. It was great i must admit. Just relaxing and taking the drugs not having to worry about anything except having a good time with friends.
I then also used magic mushrooms at the stone circle near my house as i read that the druids used them to help reach a spiritual awarness with the gods. This didnt work for me.
Anyway after awhile my friends and I relaised we didnt need the drugs to have a good time so we hardly ever use them as much. We never took any "hard" drugs like heroine or anything like that. I only liked to take things like mushrooms as they seemed more natural as they are plants.

I could never ever take drugs. Theres no point to it. Yeh you get high for a while but then you have to deal with the consequences for the rest of your life.# BB

Have I done drugs? yes Did I enjoy it? yes Do I regret it? no
Drugs are terrible things that should be kept away from most people. I've never been around anybody that was an addict when I've done drugs, but I've known some people that have gotten addicted and it's not a pretty sight. I can see why they would want that high to last, though. Drugs alter your perceptions and, for all intents and purposes, change your reality. Honestly, it's a nice new reality, or people wouldn't do drugs in the first place. If someone is going through a terrible time or facing a lot of difficulties, they're starting out at a very low stage. When they take the drug, they're rocketed toward a high. They love the feeling and don't have to think about how life was hurting them. It's the escape, as much as the high, that an addict craves.
As for me, I enjoy an occasional recreational drug, always socially. Occasional being once in a couple months. I've done some harder drugs, but I'd never stick a needle full of junk in my arm. I've usually stuck to marijuana and maybe mushrooms. I also popped a lot of pills in my day, though.
I think you'll see a lot of different views on this subject. In just the past 2 decades, drugs have branched out enormously. No longer are drugs categorized in alcohol/weed/shrooms/crazy-sh*t. Now you can take a pill to achieve any effect you wish. You can walk into a club and see kids dressed in glow-sticks dancing to monotonous techno music while rubbing and touching on everything around them. Meet Generation X. Hi!
But those who criticize our generation forget who raised it. We're fed Ritalin if we get a B on a test, watch dad and grandpa eat vicatin, mother's little helper has been around since the sixties, and not only is fluoride in the water, but now it's spiked with estrogen and anti-depressants. Of course, parents are still surprised if they find a joint in little Johnny's book-bag.

Yes, i have taken drugs, and yes, i regret it. It was mainly marijuana. I tried ecstasy once and i'd had some of a friends marijuana and it was laced with something weird.. i never found out what it was.. I don't do drugs anymore. A day of being high is not worth the brain cells you lose..

I guess my "drug use" was a little different from most. I mean, I did the experimentation when I was young (I was of the hippy generation, don't forget), but also as a Cherokee there were certain ceremonies where drugs were used as part of the ceremony. These were well guided by the medicine men and women, so there was less chance of any real problems than the drug usage most kids do. In one way I was kind of lucky. Most drugs (pot, speed, etc., even too much alcohol) gives me a skull-splitting migraine, so moon didn't get to play as much as her friends did! In fact, I was the designated driver long before there was a such thing as the designated driver!

I have at times partaken in such natural drugs as Marijuana, Peyote, and Magic mushrooms to open myself to a shamanic experience of certain types. However such things are dangerous to use with out the proper education on the subject. Like ritual fasting one needs to know EXACTLY what it is that they're doing lest the risk health issues. There is a big difference IMO, between ritual use of a "drug" and it's abuse. Shamans in south America for example have used the coca plant for hundreds of years, it was never abused until the white man discovered cocaine and began to abuse it on a mass scale. The most dangerous drugs in our society IMO are those made from chemicals by men.

true, but the people who buy them are partially responsible. If theres nothing to buy, then there is no problem, though on the other hand the dealers of chemical drugs are very resourceful, making drugs from Drano, and other such house hold chemicals. From drugs meant to help they make more chemical drugs meant you kill, and/or addict to the point of killing. Natural drugs like Marijuana have many healing qualities, as it can quiet the spirit, dull pain, settle stomachs and may other useful qualities that Methamphetamines don't and could never have. I for one am all for legalizing marijuana, even if just for those reasons...Even if they did I still wouldn't abuse it. I also would never try to get someone to smoke, drink or anything else any kind of drug...Just so we know.
