4000 years ago or so, a huge celebration was held through out Egypt, to celebrate the rebirth of Horus. The Eygptains honored a 12 month calendar, the festival lasted 12 days. Hmmm, anyone notice the parrallel, "The Twelve Days of Christmas." Anyway, their homes and buildings were decorated with greenery. Again another parallel to modern Christmas traditions. This festival was held in honor of the rebirth of the God Horus, also in hopes that he would strenghten and grow.->^..^<
