I do not consider that I should call myself a Druid, but that I am a Druid. I do not believe that the Druids ever ceased to exist, because I know that they do exist, now as much as they ever did in days gone by. It is my belief, my experience, and my true knowledge, that Druids have always existed, regardless of the names used by societies to name them.
It is also my knowledge and experience that Druids and their spirits do not perish at death, but that they have another life beyond this one. It is also my direct experience that spirits and beings from those other lives may be born again into physical bodies in this life. This rebirth is unnecessary to the truth of Druids and is only accomplished to fulfill their chosen purposes in being. Those purposes are as myriad as the stars in the skies. My purpose in being here is to translate spiritual experiences into practical physical experiences and knowledge by deriving the procedures that have worked in the past from a study of pasttraditions. I seek to restore what was lost from the embers of what has survived.
Another part of my work is to help other people find their own way to truth and complete spiritual awareness. One of the ways that I seek to accomplish this work is by showing how it has been done in the past within Celtic culture. My failure in this accomplishment is a direct reflection on my capabilities to remain focused and connected to spirit, while also dealing with the snares of the world's illusory forms. Many times, I have to remember that it is the Truth that is against the World and not the World that is for the Truth.
It is in renewal of that connection to spirit and truth, that meditation and spiritual disciplines are established and maintained. It is also very frustrating to be limited by a commonality of shared conceptions and coimgne in my attempts to discuss these matters with others who have sought, or who have found their own foundations of being. I suppose that there are some who would dispute me in my understandings and my realities, while there are perhaps more who will simply misunderstand me. It is to those few who are on the same path as myself that I address these remarks and say that it is good that you are there, for I am comforted by your own focus of spiritual intention in this great work that we have jointly continued beyond death's doorways. It is to you and to you alone that I say, "You are the Truth against the World."
These are the words of Searls O'Dubhain, though I mean them to each and every one of my members!
"Athert an Daogdae, 'An cumang arba/gaid-si/, doge/n-sou ule am a/onur.' "
"Then said the Dagda, 'All these powers that you have said that you will command, I will myself command.'"
Power of the Dagda's heart be in you!
That said...Let us try to peice together what has been burned from our pasts with the embers of what remains.
