The Ancestors From Newgrange to 2000
by Sítheag Nic Trantham bean BochananWhen faced with the enigma of our ancestors, the modern day Celtic Studies student or Gaelic Restorationist has many important facets to consider. The ancestors of the modern day Celtic people, who were they? Why do they play such an important rôle in folk custom and tales, even today? Why are the ancestors such an intregal part of the Tribal Gaelic Restoration movement? How do we, today, honor the memory of our ancestors, both recent and ancient? These questions are vital to unravelling the puzzle of the ancestors, and to accepting the wisdom they wish to share with us as students and the hopeful progeny which will forge the future of Celtic cultures in modern society. Read the rest of the essay here.

I fav'd the sie...Really helpful. I was always telling Wiccans that I was Celtic, not Wiccan. For sakes of argument, I would simply say Pagan to allow this. But I am Celtic. I've felt it for many years just wasn't sure what the feeling was...Some Wiccan friends from a long time ago did a past life reading (that was interrupted) to have some thinking that I was a noble in a past life. I'm not sure what I was but I seem to always have the notion (clearly defined) of wrong & right.....I wasn't given the rules I have from my mother yet I knew....

Thats probably good, I for one don't condone past life regressions for anyone. To much can go wrong, some terrible trauma, death, or something els that has no business in the present can sometimes mess a person up. These things IMO are meant to be left to a place where they can be sorted out and learned from. What is "reincarnation" if not some divine form of Fith Fath or shape shifting? We pass from this life to the next, we live that life in any multitude of forms, a mountain, scream in the night, drop of rain, an animal, a man...A god perhaps? Such forms have a time and place for remembrance IMO.
