Often times I don't work with allot of Ogham divination, but watching Lala with her new deck, and given the fews Wren sent me a while back, I am really starting to become intrigued by the practice. So I have employed the four fold weavers spread. The name of the spread is three weavers because it deals in past, present, and future. Those are your "weavers", but you first draw an ogham to describe the over all situation. I woke up with a question in my mind, which I won't share but I'm going to share the answer as given by the sacred trees. Perhaps some will recognize the answer.
Over all situation[/u][/i]
Elaberation- Apple, shelter of the wild hind is an apple tree.
Word Ogham of Morainn mac Moin, apple is the shelter of hind and of lunatics.
Word Ogham of Cu Chulainn, apple equals excellent emblem, protection.
Word Ogham of Oengus, apple equals force of a man.
Apple, is one of the most mystical trees in the Ogham alphabet and here we have reached into the grove's heart. This Ogham in the present situation represents the "force of a man/woman" it also becomes representative of regeneration, healing, and finally wholeness after a painful time. The apple tree in the Ogham usually represents a time of rest needed so that you can simply be at one with yourself for a time. This Ogham tells me of the need to rest and recuperate before the mind and body choose to do it for you.
The Apple tree is connected with "Eamhain Abhlach" or the Isle of apples (The original Avalon) and thus is a representation of the land of the ever living, which tells one that their inner vitality is strong, but still requires tending and looking after. It tells me that a mental and/or emotional condition maybe coming to an end. From here Apple becomes an Ogam of recovery, it brings new growth, it represents a time when one's vitality is refreshed and re-strengthened. It represents the need to be whole, and shows that the need can be filled with the proper action.
The Past
Elaborations- The hedge of a stream is Blackthorn.
Word ogham of Morainn mac Moin- blackthorn is careful effort, strongest of red, it equals sloe which gives strong red dye on metal.
Word Ogham of Cu Chulainn- Blackthorn equals an arrow's mist, smoke drifting up from a fire.
Word Ogham of Oengus- Blackthorn equals an increasing of secrets.
Blackthorn is an Ogham that represents pain, or being hurt in some way. Blackthorn is a thick, thorny, bloody mess when you become entangled with it, and finding this ogham in a spread means a person has been well on the receiving end of allot of pain for quite a while. However it also offers initiation into the mysteries of the mind and self conquest. Blackthorn represents battle, as well as wounds and turmoil inflicted by those battles. It represents the battles we face/will face both in past and future situations. It represents the wounds inflicted and received. Blackthorn strongly warns to not force the situation, as force will only cause further entanglement and deeper wounds (yeah, no shit).
Present
Elaborations- Broom, a physician's strength is broom.
Word Ogham of Morainn mac Moin- broom is a physician's strength, there is an affinity between panacea and broom.
Word Ogham of Cu Chulainn- Broom equals the beginning of heroic deeds, healing.
Word Ogham of Oengus- Broom equals the robes of physicians.
Broom is an Ogham of healing, it can represent physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual healing. This I must admit was an interesting few to draw after having drawn Blackthorn. It seems to be telling of a need to heal from the fore mentioned battles, and the inflicted wounds left behind, to purge the negativity, to sweep it away as broom would suggest. It tells me there is a need to nurture vitality through various rites of cleansing and renewal. It shows me a need to clean up negative clutter from psychic, spiritual and physical levels. I tells me of a need to tactfully, and skillfully become the healer.
Future
Elaborations- Muin is a vine tree, highest of beauties is Muin, because it grows aloft.
Word Ogham of Moriann mac Moin- Vine is the strongest of effort, back of man or ox, for it is they who are the strongest.
Word Ogham of Cu Chulainn- Vine equals a pack of wolves with spears, three vines.
Word Ogham of Oengus- Vine equals condition of slaughter.
Vine is an Ogham representing accomplishment, and work well done, as well as personal celebrations which are to follow (kinda like beer:30 ) It tells of a time when people will stand back and enjoy the fruits of their labor. It represents a changing of seasons from cold wintry times to spring thus representing the inner mysteries of divine ecstasy. Vine speaks of a need to work for the goal, or the strain on man and ox. The land needs to be worked, planted, weeded, and pests driven off in order for it to flourish, then a period of waiting, but this ogham tells of the fruits of such labor. It tells of a need to let go of restraints and inhibitions, to achieve the coming time of intoxication, and ecstacy...However it also can warn against excess, and the consequences of gluttony.
