Daily Hindu Wisdom
Negative feelings, such as violence, are damaging to life, whether we act upon them ourselves, or cause or condone them in others.
They are born of greed, anger, or delusion, and may be slight, moderate, or intense.
Their fruit is endless ignorance and suffering. To remember this is to cultivate the opposite.
-The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, 2:34
Daily Muslim Wisdom Behold! verily on the friends of Allah there is no fear, nor shall they grieve; Those who believe and (constantly) guard against evil; For them are glad tidings, in the life of the present and in the Hereafter; no change can there be in the words of Allah. This is indeed the supreme felicity.
-Qur'an, Yunus, Surah 10:62-64
Daily Jewish Wisdom In the winter the earth is pregnant. It bears within itself a great secret. In the summer, the secret is disclosed.
- Rabbi Nachman of Breslov
Daily Buddhist Wisdom
As all things are buddha-dharma, there is delusion and realization, practice, and birth and death, and there are buddhas and sentient beings.
As the myriad things are without an abiding self, there is no delusion, no realization, no buddha, no sentient being, no birth and death.
The buddha way is, basically, leaping clear of the many and the one; thus there are birth and death, delusion and realization, sentient beings and buddhas.
Yet in attachment blossoms fall, and in aversion weeds spread.
-Dogen, "Actualizing the Fundamental Point"
