A few weeks ago, I was in a high state of agitation, oh hell that is a nice word for saying , I was in a silent rage that couldnt really be expressed by yelling or ranting and raving, so I did the only thing that I could do.
I went to this place here in Colorado Springs called Garden of the Gods and if you have ever seen it or walked through it then you would understand why and how it gets its name. its a deffinate energy place and when ever I need to calm down or think, I go there and just walk through the park, but normally I keep to the main sidewalks that run through it.
This day I didnt, I drove around it until this little spot caught my eye and I pulled in and parked and got out and took the trail that was there, interestingly enough the name of the trail was called SCOTSMANS TRAIL, yeah thats what I thought too, signs!
I walked the trail for quite some time , I had already calmed down just by driving through the place so, I was just in a state of tired confusion and wanting answers
I had gotten to a point in the trail where it circled around back on it self and I stopped and just slowly did a 360 degree turn and gazed at all that nature all around me, when I spotted a tree off a little ways and off the trail, I am not sure what made me decide to try to get to that tree but again, it seems as if I was supposed to, so down into bushes I went and across a dry stream bed that was about 4 foot deep and the same width, I finally made it to another trail and was in front of a field that where this tree stood , about a block or so in.
This tree had no leave at all and was really tall , its bark had turned almost completely white, I first thought it was just a dead tree but I embarked through hip high brush and weeds to get to this tree, once I got to the tree, I reached out to touch it and felt just a little tremor of what was left of its life force, or so it seemed to me.
I walked completely around the tree, before leaning back against it and just watching the small storm clouds gather and float over the park.
I dont know how long I stood there but at one point it almost felt as if that tree was giving up its last essence of life force to me and the surrounding trees and ground.
Because I suddenly got this warm tingling feeling all up and down my spine where it was pressed against the tree.
and after that I turned around to touch it with my hands and felt nothing but bark under them.
I must say it was the oddest most calming, energising and peacful experience I have ever had out in nature, and I felt humbled and honored at the same time.
It wasnt long after that , that I walked out of the field but turned around to look back at that tree and knew that I would have a staff from that tree.
The next time I went out there, I searched around the tree and found a fairly decent size branch that was on the ground by the tree.
all the other trees around were far enough away that there was no way this branch was from them, and in a weird sort of way it had the same feel to it as the tree when I held it in my hands.
So now that is the story of my staff that I told Wren I would post here
