I would persoanlly like to caution all those who would take any information that I post in this thread and use it as a actual curse you will be doing on anyone that is not why i am posting this i am posting this to show the roman view of magic.
Please do not attempt this the roman gods were quick to anger and quick to respond. Failure on your part to honor them correctly and with the right amount of honor could result in unwanted retribution.
The Roman view on magic was more siging a contract with the gods offerings should match what you are asking to be done to protect a life you must give a life. That could be something as small as a dove or as large as a bull that you would be expected to bath in the blood of. When you put a curse on someone you signed a contract with the gods you asked to help and the offerings you made were usually body parts of the ones you cursed. This could be doubly damaging to those poor souls. Not only where you wishing them harm you where giving the gods the victims arms, penis, breast, heart, stomach, and other vital organs to be used with as the gods saw fit.
A traditional curse would start out
something like this.
I call as witness to this contract my ancestors to act as mediators to my need to the gods of the inferi.
Dis Patre I offer you the (victims name) eyes, heart, Penis, lips, hair, and eyes. I want them attacked by dogs may they be drug through the public square and killed in a mob
Gia galenus I offer you () Limbs, Stomach, Head, Thoughts, and desier. I want them preversed and hurt bring thier fears to them and use against them.
It would then go one to diagram all this On a sheet of metalic paper and then the contract would be taken to the home of the one you curse. Shoved into a descrete place in the walls of the home.
I just wanted everyone to see the type of ritual and the way the romans view magic I do not suggest that anyone attempt this.
Romans believed that magic was a contract nothing more faith while a small part of the process was not the most important thing to the equation the offering was.
This is why religio roma is different than most other faiths.
I hope that this was at least entertaining to you all
