This is something I posted to a "Druid" on myspace just now. The question is how many just follow Pagan ways to get away from Christianity?
An Morrighan (second battle of Moytura)
Look at this statement, from the eyes of a mythological being. You know? Like in the primordial swamps during the creation of Ireland. It is a world of unity, seems distant doesn't it? I am called Senbecc on the net because I am a Druid of Irish lineage. I am the Hawk of time, the salmon of wisdom, and the Bull of war and plenty. I am the god over the three realms and I am the King of my trees, I was 9 Millennia in enchantment when Conn of a hundred battles offered me his sword. I have seen the creation of nine realms as the hawk on the cliff...And I have a question...A question I pose to any who wish to answer it...
As I have come to understand it a friend of mine recently came under attack from someone on this board for being of Christian persuasion...Now I see allot of this kind of bull shit going on amongst "pagans" (and more laughably "Druids") on myspace. "I allow you to believe this, and I'll allow you to believe that w/o fear of ridicule), and now I have come to ridicule the ridiculers.
There are enough serious seekers who are afraid to ask questions on these boards for the fear of those who laughably claim to be educated and will flame them for a thought or philosophy they have discovered. To my mind there is no such thing as a "fluff", only those who wish to do their own work their own way,
"there are people who are afraid to ask questions for fear of being ridiculed or attacked. Not doing so is a certain way to avoid learning and growing. By not seeking one is diminishing in wisdom IMO. Those who prevent others from seeking are guilty of offenses against knowledge and even themselves also IMO. It seems to me that those who ridicule newcomers are most often those who are insecure in their own knowledge or even those who don't learn deeply because they didn't ask the right questions (or even the wrong ones). One of the three parts of knowledge is inquiry according to Irish Druidic tradition. The other two parts are tradition and experience. OTOH I've seen many newcomers to the Druid Way who are products of our *instant society.* These are people who don't understand that a lot of study and work are involved in being or becoming a Druid. In those cases, it has been the newcomers who seem intolerant to others rather than those who consider themselves among the established."
Searls O'Dubhain on asking questions. Searls is a true Druid, I'd suggest any who wish to follow a Celtic path google his name, and I recommend that they study under the Henge of Keltria where he began his studies.
Just something I thought I'd throw in there, am learning the art of Random you see?
My question is, how many honestly practice Paganism *just* to "get away from Christianity? How many take this disconnect from spirit to a darkened place? Why is it every Christian who comes in our midst's becomes ridiculed by someone for no other reason...Than what? Christianity is the enemy?...Because Christians "can't be Pagan"? You see this is where the insta-Druid philosophy ends and Druidic philosophy begins...Here's where the boys get separated from the men.
As a student of religion and spirituality's I watch this sort of behavior...As I have here on myspace...True Druidic philosophy is an art in-and-of its self. Poetry, Philosophy, smith craft, any form of self expression is an art, which is why we are at times been known as "the artistic ones" as were the Tuatha de Danann as we are those who have worked to be close to them through the three forms of knowledge Searls spoke of. Druidic philosophy is a holistic view. Nothing through out time and space is out of disconnect... I am not disconnected from my Christian heritage, nor am I fooled into the belief that it was the first. Am I a Christian Druid?...Nope, just not disconnected from tradition. I am a strict pagan Irish druid, and thanks to the Filidh of Ireland I still have the means to reach the ancestors...
Now, with that in mind my question is, why are "Druids" stifeling quests? Why are they telling seekers that a their philosophies are the end all? Who are the Druids who flame others for a simple question on Wicca for shit's sake...They seem to be everywhere, and I'd like an explanation...How are they wrong if they are connected? Tell me how is one wrong in believing a Christian Path? Point me to the lie in that system of beliefs, they we Pagans, Witches, Wiccans, and Druids have not visited or revisited on them at some point? I mean jeez...Grow up will ya?...Is this a good time to use the term "fluffs"?
Peace to (as high as) the sky
sky to the earth
earth beneath sky
strength in everyone
a cup very full
a fullness of honey
honour enough
summer in winter
spear supported by shield
shields supported by forts
forts fierce eager for battle
"sod" (fleece) from sheep
woods grown with antler-tips (full of stags)
forever destructions have departed
mast (nuts) on trees
a branch drooping-down
drooping from growth
wealth for a son
a son very learned
neck of bull (in yoke)
a bull from a song
knots in woods (i.e. scrap-wood)
wood for a fire
fire as wanted
palisades new and bright
salmon their victory
the Boyne (i.e. Newgrange) their hostel
hostel with an excellence of length
blue (new) growth after spring
(in) autumn horses increase
the land held secure
land recounted with excellence of word
Be might to the eternal much excellent woods
peace to (as high as the) sky
be (this) nine times eternal
