ive actually met blackbird on other forums. The sites are more academic and the rules there are a little different to here since everyone is considered to have studied to back up their opinions even mad rants can be enlightening. its kind of funny to read anyway

The BTW people are saying that if you are not initiated, you are not Wiccan. quote] In Europe that is true because Wicca here is an oral tradition. You have to be initiated and pass through 3 degree's before you get passed the basic stuff written in books which at that point you're oath bound not to discuss the things you learn outside the coven let alone write about them. Im not from North America but ecclecticism seems to be rampant there and to nick a quote from Dion Fortunes the mystical Qabbalah "a dabbler in many things a master of noe"

I would like to see more of our chit chat kept to chit chat boards though. But I have no problems with threads that end in chit chat, I personally prefer a relaxed study environment.

Ok....so, then if I were to want to go in a particular field of study...say Faerie Wicca, because I am in the States, I am ok to say that I am or would there be something that I'd need to do because there are covens around here but I wouldn't know which one to go to or which one would be right for me....or even if I would want one.

What covens are near you? If you're going for initiation Id learn the fundamentals from an Alexandrian based coven, they are less strict then the Gardinarians. Even then getting in isnt as easy as asking.... atleast not here. You have to meet someone past the intitate stage, click with them socially then they'll teach you some basics and if ye show promise they'll sponsor you in the Coven. After that you have to pass 3 degrees of initiation before you'll learn something silver raven wolf doesnt know. Some covens do a degree a year... There's no alternative way here, there might be there

Gawd I'm sick of these posts. So, delete them. No, I'm not going to start deleting post simply because I don't like them. Reminds me to much of someone else. He is welcome to his unedjucated thoughts and blather about the USA, American Druidry, or anything else he would like to rant about I suppose. I'm just getting tired of finding these little turds of his everywhere.

Part of being a good admin is deleting posts or threads that are inflammatory or insulting or otherwise break the rules of the forum. One I frequent it is called "poofing" when a thread disappears. I don't think it is too much like the other place to delete such drival ... in fact, he encouraged the drival rather than deleting it. But, if you feel it should stay that is OK, too.
