do you like to debate with others? or do you shy away from it? i am usually one of those people who enjoy it. because i know that people have different opinions, and i am just so awed by what they believe. the best thing ever is not to be right, but to show and teach some one a new way to see things.

I enjoy a good debate who's focus is to move forward, and remains courteous to everyone involved in the discussion. As I read on someones signature once "The focus of a debate isn't to see who's right, but to move forward".

I like to debate as well. I do have a little trouble with intensity, though. If there's a flaw in my logic I would rather have that gently pointed out to me rather than being eviscerated.
Basically - If I have some questions or feel like I know what I'm talking about - I'll jump in there.

Im sure people have witnessed some of my rants at MNM lol I enjoy debates. Most of the things i have learnt about the world and about my own arguemnts are from debates. But I allways end up hitting a stalemate with those i am debating. Like both people are right if you know what i mean. But in the end I enjoy hearing the other peoples views as i can learn from them and at times i have entered debates and come out realising what i was deabating was rubbish lol. All the more wiser.

You set up your pieces (your source material) and play them strategically, you make a move and then your opponent(s) make a move...It's only when all parties are willing to move forward that the debate progresses.

I was on the debate team in high school, so I really do love a good debate ... debate, not argument! We've seen what arguments can do . But a good debate can bring out new ideas, new thoughts, new understanding ... and whether you agree or not, food for thought is NEVER a bad thing!

Senbecc, can you hear my one hand clapping! one hand? evilkitty, it's an esoteric description of the "Kether" (Absolute Divinity) sphere on the Qabalistic Tree of Life. It actually goes "The sound of one hand clapping" and is an interesting meditation piece. It's akin to trying to figure out "Creation."
