does anyone here work from home? rather your own buisness or for someone else. as some of you who came from MnM now i recently started working on a pagan magazine. now the mag. is not the complaint that's going pretty good. the gripe is why do other people assume that because you do work from home that you have all this free time to do everything else. i cook and clean for 7 people have two small kids to care for. one who is disabled which adds extra stress and responsiblities to the job and i'll still get told i do nothing all day. then when i try to sit down and work i get gripped at for being on the computer. and they wonder why i stay up so late working on this mag. probally because it's the only time everyone is alseep and i don't have to listen to them complain and i can actually get work done. i think i may start detailing everything i do around here and next time someone tries to say i don't do anything all day i'll show it to them.

You go, Raven! Make 'em do your job for one day and see how its done! (You know the old saying - if you want to someone to do the work of two men, hire a woman! ;D) It is true, though, that people seem to think you do nothing all day if you work from home. Before we were put on hold by Katrina the hubby and I had started our own Production Company to make films/video. I did all the "leg" work from home and I swear people thought I was "eating bonbons and watching soaps" all day! (Yeah, like the 850 addresses of all the major newspapers in the country are going to type themselves into the excel spreadsheet.) I say, tell 'em to SIT ON IT! ;D

Now THAT is tragic (I love to travel, so I think any postponed trip is tragic)! How did Katrina screw up your trip? Seriously that really is awful! I love england and any reason that you had to put it off is just ! I mean, we live where we knew there was a chance of a bad one (though having survived Camille with home and belongings intact we weren't expecting a Katrina!), but I hate to know that someone so far inland was affected! I'm going to send positive "EK IS GOING TO ENGLAND" thoughts for you!

I have worked from home and it is far far far harder than going out to work. It nearly drove me insane. I had this job where I worked for a packaging company and I would pack all sorts of things, sometimes putting toothpaste into cardboard tubes (which I had to make up from flat packs, putting drinking straws into little celophane bags and stappling a cardboard top on, etc etc. I think you kinda get the idea. Anyway the house was always a mess, there would be huge boxes of stuff everywhere and the pay was poo to say the least. Not only that but I would be working 60-70 hours plus per week for £300 per month, yes that is per month, lol, i'm laughing, but I wasn't then, that was a good month.
So I do get where you are coming from to some degree hun.
