my new born boy keeps scratching his lil face. i trim and file his nails but he always ends up with another scratch! so is there any thing i can put on his delicate skin and not irritate it or harm his eyes? oils? a cream i can make?

thanks. i have been going through some books of mine, just not sure what to try. wanted to see if anyone knew of something that definatly works. obviously i would try it myself before putting it on jordan.

Keep socks or mittens on him at all times.. and, I would use neosporin

well (another problem) he sucks on his fists, so i cannot do the mittens thing. ihave used the neosporin, but cannot use it around his eyes.

My son did that and you just have to deal with soggy mittens. It's the best prevention. And to help keep him from sucking on his fists/the mittens, give him a pacifier. Contrary to popular belief, it will not give him an oral fixation problem. I know plenty of people that had one and they don't smoke or chew excessive amounts of gum. Just don't forget to ween him from it and don't let him give you a hard time when you do try to ween him from it.

Just don't forget to ween him from it and don't let him give you a hard time when you do try to ween him from it. i just started him on cereal, (SNIFF,SNIFF) yesterday and he loved it. i hope that maybe with this he will stop hunting for his fists. i have given him a pacifier, but he is not to interested. my 3 yr old is another situation all together. i cannot break him from the "pappy", its his only comfort object so it's gonna have to be given up willingly at this point.

Well, anything I've found I would not venture to use on such sensitive skin. I have to agree with Barret... soggy mittens are better than scratched face! Good luck with all this!
