This month's article is going to take a different path. I am very passionate about saving the natural resources that make our planet beautiful, and I know I am not the only one. Recently I received an email asking for on-line petition signatures to deter those that govern from destroying our great Sequoia trees. As you may have guessed, I am very much in love with our oxygen-providing trees regardless of species. However, I cannot fathom the human destruction of even one Sequoia or Redwood, the thought makes me physically ill.
I've decided to devote this month's column to the awareness of this problem and ask all parents, and tree lovers, to add their voice to this petition. At the time of writing this article, there were over 17,000 entries on the on-line petition; we need at least 20,000. I know that this issue is important to pagans all over America, and possibly, the world. Pagans may be a minority, but that isn't going to stop me from spreading the word and getting a message to Washington. These natural reserves were created for a reason and our children and grand-children deserve to be able to experience the grand majesty of these forests. Please, all nature lovers and tree huggers alike, sign this petition and leave a remark for those in power to contemplate their fallacy.
