I'm sorry to have to insult our Christian friends on this forum, but this had to be posted as it is beyond frightening! This is the fundie mentality that causes people to strap bombs to themselves ... could it cause some to actually try to put into action these thoughts? This is why Wicca - a scientific, Christian approach to the problem www.adequacy.org/stories/2001.7.3.4516.42680.htmlPS - Thanks to Ban_leus for posting this on his site, where I saw it.

Well it seems they've been taken off the net for conspiring to kill teenage girls in a dunking pool etc. I came to this conclusion as I tried to respond to some of the moronic posts. If I'm wrong let me know...I would love to get on that forum. Don't worry about offending OUR Christians. As our here are the real deal, the ones on this site are nothing but idiots unable to form a coherent thought between the lot of them. Witches breath under water, fly on broom sticks...If they're not off the net they damn well should be.

I'm a Christian and I'm not offended of moon posting this. I am offended by the article, though. There are people in everywhere that have viewpoints just as biting. In any religion, there are going to be persons and sects which warp teachings to their will. Once terrorism hit the 21st century, people immediately began labeling all Muslims as terrorists. I'm sure that there are malevolent people out there who call themselves Wiccans, but that doesn't represent the religion. I'm ashamed of people mis-labeling themselves as a believer of my religion. I'm not going to go into what I truly believe, but the bulk of my beliefs fall under Christian teachings so the label has weight. The people doing this aren't true Christians, and they're misrepresenting everyone! I think they haven't really found their path, so they grasp onto blind faith in something familiar to find comfort. Once they see truth in another faith or belief system, it shakes their tiny world and they can't stand to feel uneasy, even for a moment. Instead of learning what could be so willingly offered, they try to forget it; if they can't forget it, they shun it; if they can't shun it, they try to destroy it. All of this is done to preserve ignorance. But is ignorance truly bliss? You can hide from the light out of fear for a very long time if you try hard enough, but sooner or later, the truth will find you. At first it will be disorienting. I've heard many people speak of the troubles finding their own path. I had trouble finding mine. I questioned everything and couldn't find a true peace for a while. But after I touched a truth I could hold, I would never exchange the uneasiness I went through for the peace I once thought I had. As for the people lashing out against the author, go ahead! But try not to label him "Christian" and apply that label to every other Christian you find. Soon you might be trying to find controversial passages in the Bible to throw in any Christian's face you might come across. Before you do that, just think of everything written about the religious label you wear. Have you ever disagreed with something you've read? And remember: it's much much harder to defend sixty books under the same cover than sixty separate books. On top of that, there are different cannons of scripture for different orthodoxies, different translations, gnostic gospels, apocrypha, etc. The books weren't even compiled into familiar forms until hundreds of years afterwards. It's improbable, if not impossible, to walk up to someone and know exactly what they believe. Gain some knowledge before strangling them! And If someone displays their ignorance as they did in the posted article, is it really going to do anything if you flame them except cause a retaliation against your religion? I'm not saying that you shouldn't be outraged and not voice your opinion, quite the contrary. Just make sure you don't become what you hate. The person who has the least to say will probably say it the loudest ... over and over again. Well, I guess that was more like a life-lesson than a response to the religious thing, but maybe someone will benefit from my rambling words. It all boils down to: ignorant people are everywhere, it's just sad that they're heard more often than everyone else. I hope that everyone feels safe here, though. I doubt anyone at this forum will flame anyone else. Even if they try, I don't think the mods or Senbecc will allow it. (If you still feel the need to flame Christians, PM me and I will tell you how you will die and burn in hell for all eternity ... ;D ) j/k guys
