As most of you know, this is the other end of the spectrum than I care to be in. It is very important to realize the severity of your actions and the energies you will be working with. You are really not binding the person but binding their free will. A "love" spell on a specific person is a binding spell, as well as, binding someone from something, such as child porn or worse. It works both ways. You are attempting to bind the persons intent. Work that interferes with a persons free will need a great deal of energy. If you can't raise enough you will fail. You need to use the magic of all you can. If the person invites the binding, or even participates, (such as to quit tobacco) the results will of course be much better. The person is open to the energies of binding. Less raised energy is necessary for this. Still raise what's available. Very true Ron.

Well basically what I was trying to say in the whole matter is that the spell should be explained a bit more if you are going to post it. not just the spell itself. You know like.....you do this next because....and explain the symbology. The more you know and better you understand what and why you are doing something the greater success you will have in performing it. You know the saying.....give a man a fish he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he has food for life. Or something like that. Well same principle.
I agreee Sabs... Will you tell us then, what the point of this kind of spell would be? Teach us oh wise one...

I agreee Sabs... Will you tell us then, what the point of this kind of spell would be? Teach us oh wise one... Well I think anyone wanting to do a binding would know what the point would be Lala, and if they don't then perhaps they should rethink it. I think Ron made an excellent post about what the point of a binding is and I highly doubt that my repeating it could make it any more clearer. And as for the symbology and such behind the spells EK posted we should ask her as she is the one who posted them is she not? The point behind something and the symbology of the actions and such are two seperate things entirely.

I don't do binding spells but I thought this was a very interesting topic. I think, Sab, that EvilKitty responded to lala as she did because she felt lala clearly understood what she was asking for. The request was made specifically for a spell, which is what was given. The warnings, too, are much appreciated. I just don't want to lose sight of the original intent of the thread.

Ok, first I was not picking on EK like you all assume. The reason for me posting how I did was this: Yea, Lala is an adult and I am sure that she may have understood what she was asking for but this is a public board is it not? So, a 15 year old wonders in and says "hey neato! Lets try this out" but has no warnings posted. That is why I personally do not post spells on the internet. It is a responsibility I feel that I personally have. My own thoughts I am not necissarily imposing on EK, but perhaps I could make her see where I am coming from. She may not think in the same terms as I do but I also feel it is a disservice if I don't mention things when I feel drawn to do so. Now you all know me well enough, at least I know Lala does, to know that I dont post extensivly on a subject unless I feel I have had the training and know how to speak on it.

I appreciate that, Sab. I did not mean to imply you were bashing anyone. I agree that the clarification and warnings are a good thing, if someone comes into this thread and thinks they can simply do a spell with no understanding of the implications. It was only that I was trying that lala's request and kitty's response seemed reasonable to me.
Thanks for taking the time to say all this, Sab! Anything that helps us all learn more is always welcome! *hugs*
