We had one of those <ours was a dren, so bad he was a backwards nerd>. On one band trip we had greyhound buses - we locked him in the bathroom and kept him there for about 4 hours .... until someone really had to use the bathroom! ;D God, we were mean little sh*ts!

wait wait wait, how many people here were in band? We had about 125 total members, including the flag corps, magorettes, etc. Then on band trips add the chaparones so we would have a good 135 to 140 people going, depending on if it was an overnight trip or not. Even though I grew up in a small town, at the time we had seveal other small towns that attended the same high school, so we had a lot of kids ... many of whom were either in sports or the band - on the whole here band members weren't the nerds, we weren't cheerleader cool, but we had our own coolness.

back in middle school ... specifically the 6th year after kindergarten ... I played clarinet in the school band. I earned 1st chair both semesters and never lost a contest. Then I quit, and it really pissed off the head band lady.

I played piano, all the reed instruments, flute (some), and bass guitar.
