Happy independance day, please take the time to remember those who have fought and fallen in the past, and those who fight and fall today. It is they who need our thoughts of will and intention to bring them strength and courage.
Power of the Dagda's heart be with them, and us everyone.

I was just reading about it though I don't think the article I'm reading tells why they were shot.

What is on the 14th Marcus? Tis the day when the Orange Men (Loyalist/British) March throughout N.Ireland and ofcourse this is usually met by Republicans and sometimes riots occur, especially when they insist on marching up Catholic streets.

They were innocent peaceful demonstrators who were demonstrating against internment (imprisoning suspected IRA members without trial). The British army opened fire on the peaceful demonstrators murdering 13 and wounding many more. It was a dark day in Ireland for sure. Im glad i wasnt around for it. No the Orange men march every 14th July celebrating their victory over Irish republicans.

I hope everyone had a great day! What are the celebrations like on the day? Are there parades and such? Parades and fireworks and picnics and all sorts of stuff! I like the fireworks the best. If you go to this link www.nbc4i.com/redwhiteandboom/index.htmlthey have some pictures of the big fireworks show near where sojrn's family lives, which was where we spent the 4th.
