I'm from Reynoldsburg, OH. Which is one of the Suburbs of Columbus. My mom and her cousin are doing our family tree and just recently found that we are part Scottish. I am part Scottish, English, German, and Cherokee. So we have two posters from Ohio?...One of you have surely seen Drew Carry.

Noooo, I haven't seen him. lol Doesn't he live in the Cleveland area? I haven't been up in that area since I was 8. But, I really appreciate his donations to the public libraries. Since, I like to borrow a book, if available, instead of (or before) buying one. In the last year and a half, my local branch has expanded their collection of Wicca/Witchcraft books as well as books relating to the Craft.

I'm going to have to go have a look! At least ours does. lol The Columbus Library is online, and I go there to search for a book, then reserve it. They then take to the branch I want it sent to, email me, then I go pick it up. The main library has the best selection.

me too, I go to the CMARS and request what I want, they'll ship it to the local library. The local closed minded people won't let the books stay on the shelf. They have to be in the closed stacks and people still will check them out and then destroy them. Evil book burners.

you are lucky to find GOOD books at the library. Mine only have the halloween type ones which go back to when it started which is ok(gives some history on it) but then you got really nothing. GOD forbid if they have witchcraft book in a library for all in here. but then again i live in TN. "the bible belt."

Last year two good friends of mine opened New Age/Pagan bookstores in Hamilton and Oxford. With that in mind they donated boxes and boxes of books on the subject to the local Lane Library which is the 'hub' for the other Bulter county Land Libraries. You will not find a single one of those books that were donated on a Lane Library shelf. Since there wasn't a list of titles/authors written down they had no proof of the subjects of the books, only the monetary total to use for tax purpose. I wrote a letter to Lane Library with the request that they forfeit the usage of "PUBLIC" in any of their future correspondence for they surely have misplaced all the dictionaries and the meaning of the word is of no value to them. If you area member of a local Yahoo Group you may happen upon another member that will post they are cleaning out their collection and is willing to trade/sell certain titles. I have read those types of postings in the past.

"Who is this Drew Carey that one speaks of ?" LOL...He helped promote the Cleveland area, moreso than the RockNRoll Hall of Fame did. He has recently been seen attending the World Soccer event in Europe. He is doing a commentary/reporting on it for the Travel Channel I believe.

How long until you're grownup Senbecc? I'm still not grown! Despite the best efforts of my family, I attempt to remain a child at heart. Every now and then a cranky grannie takes over. The only good things about being an adult is, my own car, house and cash. The rest stinks, like illness, jobs, and being an orphan. >^..^<

"the bible belt." born in Nashville, mainly grew up in Missouri...boy do I understand the bible belt. I actually never even heard of Wicca before I moved to Massachusetts in '89, except for of course....suffer not the witches....and stuff like that. I was totally interested in the Salem witch trials (anne putnum in The Crucible! , (directors always seem to cast me as the old biddy.... ) but I didn't know about the resurgance of the natural religions. I had to deal with the prejudices of being Catholic in the bible belt, so I understand being outcast there!

Lets see, I was born in Nashville Tennessee, raised in Clearwater Florida then moved back to Nashville then moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where I have lived the past 8 years. I guess you could say I am a late bloomer due to the fact that I have only been on a pagan path for the last 5 or 6 years. I am also part of the UFO Phenomenom and have been since I was about 25 . My family far longer. Mental abilities such as empathy and the like has always been apart of my family. preministic feelings and knowing something before they happen, dreams that come true and past life dreams. Blessed Be Silver

Born in South Jersey, live in South Jersey (despite a brief hiatus in Central PA, which I would NOT repeat), and will hopefully stay in South Jersey! My backyard abuts a state forest so I have lots of lovely four-legged and winged neighbors and friends here, though they have to come to me, as my wheelchair is not an ATV.
And, our local library seems to favor Cunningham books, other than one copy of "Holy Book of Women's Mysteries" and a couple by Lynn Andrews. Oh, and Silver Ravenwolf!

I'm orginally from the northeastern corner of Illinois but I now reside in Houston Texas. I've been living here for the last 2 years and love it.

I'm Becca. I am from Rosemount, MN. A subarb of minneapolis. I am a new Wiccan, more eclectic since I don't have a particular pantheon and am trying desparately to learn more of the different sects. I am dedicating to a coven that is eclectic. I am 28 and baptised roman catholic, so when I say new that's what I mean. I look forward to learning from all of the wonderful people on this board and hopefully one day will be able to pass my learnings on to others.
