Senbec, I use to work at Wal-mart. I started on the remodling team then worked my way into Frozen Foods. Word of advice frozen sucks I would have rather worked in the wharehouse part anyway if your guy Chris does come back get him working on the buffer if this is a third shift. The guys that did that job at the Wal-Mart I worked at were lazy and couldn't be left to do any other job so they got stuck with the buffers all night. Anyway hang in there and there is nothing wrong with being a janitor working at walmart. Well take care fireraven LoL the buffer guys were lazy?..How did they pull that one off? lol Anyway, I'm just not very comfortable with the thought of this kid behind a propane buffer. Those things could mess someone up if someone got into it I'll bet It's a nice thought though...I'm sure we'll figure it out.

If this young man is mentally handicapped, I'm sure he has more to teach than to learn. Most "children" I know like him have hearts as wide open as Montana and more love to give than the sky. I'm sorry to say that I think, Sen, you may be missing out on one of the best experiences of your life. As a 3 year old can be "a pest" or a puppy or a kitten, so can people like Chris. However, I bet inside that handicapped body and mind is a soul older and further along than most of us on this board. Usually it is the more advanced souls that can handle coming back with physical or mental problems.

It's about whether or not he's going to cost someone who actualy HAS to work their job.

Love, love, love is all you need... :-*Poor Chris, poor Senbecc. I guess you guys were like oil and water. To bad he didn't have the staying power, it's easy to give up. Propane buffer!!! ;D I didn't know that was used, probably not a good idea for Chris. I wouldn't have let him by the freezers either! Chriscicles!!! You would've had some splannin' to do! ;D >^..^<

Sorry I opened my mouth ... sorry I have friends that have mentally handicapped children that need the extra help ... sorry, period. Good luck with the job, hope you wind up the boss. My rant.

Love isn't what this thread is about. It's about whether or not he's going to cost someone who actualy HAS to work their job. It's always about love! Maybe, among other lessons, is the lesson to love yourself a little bit more, Senbecc! Did he come back?

I'm sorry but this has nothing to do with love, lots of people have love to give but work is work. The reason Larry for example is so good at his job is because having people hand him things is not something that has ever happened for him. Chris is just LAZY. THAT's what this thread is about. The problem I have is the Chis isn't even "retarded" in the strictest since of the term, just slow...Larry on the other hand is another story. So beyond that what is the possible excuss. In short we have a retarded man who has become one of the pillars of the job, and we have a "slow minded" boy who is riding out the mother of excusses. I'll ask everyones forgivness for having little sympathy for it.

My husband works at Target and I hear everything when he comes home and vents to me about his day. Hard to watch someone slack when you are a very hard worker...

Hmm...3 days and nothing guess Chris didn't come back to work. >^-.-^< LoL...Yeah, he did. I don't like coming across like I don't like him...Just to give you an idea of how it can be...Last night I did the exact same job in 2 hrs. less time than it took me with his "help"...I'm telling you I've even heard him talk about how he milks this disability for the sheer reason that he may save himself some trouble...Now I keep my mouth shut when he talks to me and I let him rattle on...n on....and onnnnn, but the more I began hearing stuff like that the less sympathy I had for him. When I was 9 they tried calling me "learning disabled"...I have been around these sorts of people all my life and I don't discriminate against any one of them as someone else seemed to be insinuating.

Makes me wanna spit on his shoe. ;D

When I spend my days fighting for my independence and every scrap of strength, I must confess my irritation at those to do as Chris does. Makes it harder for the rest of us. Funny thing, when you wrote about taking longer to do something with him than without, all I could see was my extremely passive-aggressive 13-yr-old. I swear I can hear him thinking... " if I take long enough and do this badly enough, she won't ask me to do these %^&$# chores any more..."
