I have never had problems being in the sun before, but now I seem to burn easily and get a heat rash if I have any sort of prolonged exposure to the sun !!! Does any one else have this problem??? Is there something I can do to avoid this problem?? I would truly be unhappy if I couldn't enjoy the outdoors any more !!!

My girlfriend and some other friends of mine have problems like this. Burn up in the sun even if its not that strong!
Perhaps a visit to the doctor for advice might be an idea? Sometimes a strong sun cream is the only answer.

I hate visits to the Doctor lol. The bummer thing is that I just started having this reaction this year. I am so pale normally I look forward to my summer tan to give my skin some color lol. Darn sun anyways !!

Your body's trying to tell you something. It's possible to become allergic to the sun. I've developed such an allergy, I sunburn in Feb. if the sun is out. You can try the 65 sunblock, it's minimally effective for me. Sorry, This What Happens with Ozone depletion.>^..^<

Darn sun anyways !! And the problem here in Rapid City is that you can't swing a "dead cat" with our hitting a doctor...Most of whom being total quacks. I went to get a doctor's note for work because of belly ache I'd had when I first moved up here and with out even touching me I was told it was a deseased gall bladder...One step away from having her tell me it was an abcessed ovary or something. I know I've had some awful ones myself...The sun I think is like starting a new exersise program. You just need to start slowly. Spen small amounts of time in the sun etc.

Well the sun exposure thing doesn't work for me, maybe it'll work for you. I burn every single time. I get the giant weeping blisters. I run from cover to cover, trying to avoid the burning rays of pain!!! I may be turning into a Vampire! LOL >^..^<

Wear carnelian to help with sun exposure, especially around the neck and/or face. See if that helps.

Darn sun anyways !! This is just a thought.. last year when my hubby and I went to Cozemel he had a reaction to the sun. They said it was a mixture of the sea salt, the sun, and the sand. It was an allergic reaction. Maybe there is something new you have started using.. soap, perfume, laundry detergent that doesnt bother you until you heat up and your pores open up. Why don't you try changing these personal things one at a time and try to discover if this reaction stops when you change one or two of them?

Hey I never thought of that Raeven! I burn the worst on my neck and shoulders. I'm not going to use hair spray and see if that helps. Maybe it amplifies the sun's UVs. Thanks. I've got some Carnelian I'll try that too, but also the sunscreen. Thanks.>^..^<

Any new meds this year? Lots of medications can make you very vulnerable to the sunburn, etc., as can taking certain herbal remedies internally.

Darn sun anyways !! The more you stay out of the sun, the more youthful looking you will be when you get older. I followed that advice and even though I'm 44 everyone I meet never give me a day over 35!

I try not to change things in my routine because I have very sensitive skin. The sun was one of the few things that didn't bother me, I guess it was just a matter of time lol. Thanx for the help, I am just going to have to up my SPF in my sun products.

I try to avoid meds whenever possible, and the only herbal things I have added to my diet are Zinc tablets and echinacea. I am very picky about what I consume so new things rarely get added to my diet. I am guessing that it is just my body being fussy about the sun lol !!!

I can't remember a summer when I didn't get a lot of sun. I grew up with a swimming pool so you would think the sun and I are old friends, but I guess even old friends need a break now and again hehe !!
