I didn't know where else to put this. I figured a discussion of a certain faerie happening in my house was appropriate for the Celtic board. I bought a Connamara marble Claddaugh ring when I was in Ireland last summer. I found soon enough that, as long as I was wearing it, I could keep track of it, but if I took it off for any length of time, it would disappear...misplaced, I thought.
Well, I haven't seen it in months now. That was okay, I knew it would turn up sooner or later, as it always does. This time the turn-up was quite dramatic. I was laying in bed, getting comfy and situated with my book, when I heard a "clang" from the bathroom. It sounded like something metallic had fallen on the tile floor, perhaps from the sink countertop. I was thinking perhaps one of the cats was playing with the moonstone ring I had set on the countertop before retiring and had knocked it to the floor. Got up, went into the bathroom (no cats in there, BTW)...there was my claddaugh ring, in the center of the bathroom floor, like it had fallen out of thin air.
Seems the fairies like my Irish marble ring. I shall have to keep a better eye on it now that they've returned it again

I'm pretty sure this thread will be moved but I hear you! I love when people lose something & I tell them to ask the faeries for the item back.....always a funny look. I say, 'try it!'
Always works for me....

I have shared this with the wee ban drui, who is quite fey and fond of the fair folk. She thinks the ring has a special magic that attracts your friends and that they are very pleased you are willing to share it with them!

Never thought of that....Good possibility that may be the reason. I've always reasoned it to them being mischievous

Yes I feel that they fey are ancient and pleased, it is a misconception that they are mischievious.

I think that it more or less depends on those being delt with, and how they feel they've been treated. They *can* be mischievous, but usually aren't unless they feel they should be...Once that happens they can be pretty hard to live with.
