where and how did you have yours done, moon, sojrn? Sorry it took so long, but I've missed this thread on several occasions. Mine was done in Los Angeles back in 1993. He charted all of the planets positions, then proceeded to amaze me with the details.

I am completely in the dark in this area, other than knowing I am an Aquarius and that is generally on target in my personality traits. My kids are both Virgo and are completely opposite personalities, though. I took a book out of the library and tried to learn about astrology and just kept asking "why" to everything I read, out loud apparently as dear husband kept saying 'why what'?
Then, it sort of 'hit' me that this is possibly the same idea as the elements and the planets in terms of which ones are connected to certain herbs and stones and Gods/Goddesses... and so forth? The sun and moon in certain locations at the time of my birth connects them to me in certain traits and possible paths in my life? Is that the way this all works? Then, there is whether to pursue the natal chart or the divination chart or the healing charts?
I'd love a recommendation on a good book to start out with.

I just recently got into astrology. I think of it less as the stars tell me my future as the energies that were present at my time of birth help me understand what makes me tick and what pitfalls I may encounter along the way. I am about 2/3 the way through "The Inner Sky" by Steven Forrest. It's a great book and very user friendly.
