Greetings & Well Met,
I only recently heard about this place, ironically enough from someone I don't see eye to eye with. Just the same, I came to have a look around and I'm impressed with the people. I look forward to meeting all of you and discussing the myriad subjects I see are covered here.
As to myself, I am not a Wiccan, just a witch. In fact, I am a member of a Reconstruction Faith, which while related certainly isn't the only application of my practices. Witchcraft for me is secular on occasion, and religious on others. I'm more than a bit elitist. It is only fair to say that up front. My pet peeves include revisionist history, bad scholarship, and hypocrisy.
My name here (Finn) is my name on Witchvox, and pretty much every virtual place I go to speak on such matters. I have a longer profile over at Witchvox, although not much longer. I don't really find myself to be that interesting a topic to go on and on about it.

Céad míle fáilte romhat (100,000 welcomes to you) to paganMystics! We look forward to getting to know you as well! IMO a courteous debate is one of the strongest learning tools available. I look forward to a mutual sharing of knowledge!

I'm glad I found my way here too. I've really enjoyed reading the older posts thus far. I must say that I'm particularly impressed with the accuracy and research that has gone into various cultures, linguistics, and faiths. As a Reconstructionist myself, it is very gratifying to see that kind of effort being put forth. Thank all of you who have thus far jumped on to welcome me.

We try very had to only post the most accurate of information here. (or allow people to post such things) It sometimes is very hard to post accurate information when dealing with ancient religions that were originally only spread by word of mouth, or in secret traditions. But alas, we try!

But alas, we try! You do a very good job. I full understand the difficulty involved in accuracy when dealing with research and reconstruction. It is a neverending work in progress as ever more information is brought to light and prior knowledge made obsolete. What is important is that you are making every effort to be accurate and cite your sources. The rules here on proper cites and credit is one of the things that impressed me the most.

Definitely a Reconstructionist's philosophy. While I have no problem at all with knowledge given from experience, IMO any knowledge should be comparable to the sources. I'm enjoying having you Finn, may the wind be ever at your back!
