Greetings and Bright Blessings
My name is Heather (You can call me that or Aislin. . I'll answer to anything really lol) and I have been a practicing pagan for going on eh 10 years. . . I really stopped keeping count in all honesty everything has gotten to that lovely "meshing" state. I refer to myself as a Pagan, a Wiccan, A Witch, a Heathen and various other words that denote one who follows the old ways. I consider my religious alignment to be rather amoeba-like by definition
With that said, some of my practices include: formal training in the Wittan tradition (and it it is one I hold most dear because of my mentor who is now in the summerlands), Norse, a sprinkling of celtic, native american shamanism (I am cherokee, or more appropriately Tsalagi, in linage) and a healthy dose of kitchen witchery thrown in. I am interested in learning more about the Faerie traditions as I am fond of our other plane allies. I also have an affinity for stones and crystals. And really we all could do better to speak to the Goddess of discord now and again. Hail Eris! BLUE FISH TUESDAY!
I like to take the "try on for size" approach to practices and ideas. Some hate me for it, others love me for it, and both is okay in my book. I see the interconnectedness of all paths, and as my grandma once told me "there's more than one road that leads to Columbus [ state capital]; some are long and scenic, others are a plain straight shot, it depends on how you want to get there, but the end result is the same" I take those words of wisdom and apply them to all that I do.
In the mundane world (though really for me it all meshes together . . . I like it that way), I am about to graduate college in the next year with a BA in History (concentration in Ancient European history) and Psychology (that's so I can still eat and pay for my true-love degree for mentioned haha). I was also talked into today, starting to work on a minor in women's studies. . . just because. I like to collect knowledge for knowledge's sake. I hope to get a job working as a councilor for troubled youth or women, and write books relating to my experiences in the Craft with some historical inclusions. . . fine details to be determined as I go heh . Some day I wish to open my own metaphysical shop ( I suppose that is my true goal in life. . . the rest is just means to get there haha).
I live in southern Ohio with my beloved boyfriend (also a poster on here, and the one who endlessly badgered me to join (lovingly of course ) Paul, theoccultchrist) and our small menagerie : two cats (Aiden-Monkey and Simon-Cat), three ferrets (Slinky, Kokopelli, and Chookie) one dog-child (Maya), and a Betta Fish named Amethyst (who is Red )
This is long winded but yet rather short, I hope that you all find me an interesting addition to the board, and hope to get to know you all better
Walk in Peace,
Aislin Ravenskye
