The roads our lives take, are they......?

Destiny,Fate,Karma,Serendipity, supreme beings plans for us, or are they, our free will, our choice, or just random acts of what we all call life.

I dont believe in coincidense, so there has to be explanations beyond just mere choice or random acts of living.

Your bored, and make a decision to go sit in a resteraunt and have coffe and work a crossword puzzle, while there another person strikes up a conversation with you, you hit it off and have a great time
then you both find out that your friend was trying to hook the two of you up and neither one of you knew it

is it fate, chance or the choice you made?


you drive the same way to work every day, but there is traffic and you decide on one of two other routes to take, and on the one you choose, is a person broke down with a flat tire
you stop to help and when your done, you go on to work but there is a bad wreck that had you not stopped, you would have probably been in.

Karma, gaurdian angels, personal choice or Destiny?


Do we ever wonder when we wake up in the morning if that extra 5 minutes we hit the snooze will change the course of events in our lives today? or suddenly deciding that today your going to take the day off, and major things happen for your or to you that day?

Well, I have thought about alot over the years and even more so of late, and I think that its a very finely woven tapestry of all of the above!

I think if you are ment to meet someone, then it wouldnt matter , what choice you made , then you would meet them, but your choice maybe made it happen sooner, or later as the case may be.


I believe the Goddess has plans within plans , but your choices, may change those plans a little but not completely.
You may choose to take the left fork in the road instead of the right but at somepoint you will still reach those points where Destiny was leading you anyway.

You may be fated to meet a person but your choices have an effect on how that person effects your life

And as for random act of life, well, there is no such thing in my opinion.
the word random means, not normally occuring
life in and of itself is too complex and simple all at the same time to be Random, with intricasies, that are to precise and logical to anything other then design of some nature

Amazing thoughts Silver! Personally I feel that there is a hierarchy, and a divine network, perhaps even a plan of some sort. Yet I also feel we are each free to do as we please, and follow the path to where ever it leads.

For example when something good happens to me I see it as my own accomplishment...If something bad happens I see it as my own failure or misfortune, I don't attribute either to the gods I mean...If that makes sense?

I think there is divine inspiration but it is our choice to listen or not. As you said, Silver, you decide to go into the coffee shop. It is those little nudges that we can choose to ignore, or not, and that is where the free will enters our lives.

I've always been intrigued, though, by the old lore and mythology where there is a geas (or taboo) on someone. They know of the geas and strive to avoid it, though ultimately fall victim to it. What does that tell us about ourselves?

It makes perfect sense to me, I can see where if the something good was something you had strived for or worked hard at, yes then it is one's own accomplishment, however , there are times when ones choices arent the catalyst for what ever good or ill befalls one, that is when , we wonder, is it karmic lessons, or just a twist of the fates!

Havent you ever felt like, there was thin needor urge to go a certain way or do a certain thing, wether you really wanted to our not?

you decide to follow those urgings but was it really your choice or were you lead in a certain direction?
