THE FOURTH CHAKRA
The HEART Chakra or ANAHATA
[It is from this Chakra the Social Identity rises]
Location: Center of the Chest
Color: Green (secondary color Pink)
Element: Air
Glands/Organs: Heart, Thymus, Circulatory System, Arms, Hands,
Lungs
Gems/Minerals: Emerald, Green or Pink Tourmaline, Malachite,
Green Jade, Green or Pink Aventurine, Chrysophase, Rose Quartz
Foods: Green Fruits and Vegetables
This Chakra is the middle Chakra in the system of the seven Major Chakras. It anchors the life force from the higher self and energizes the blood and physical body with that life force. The Heart Chakra governs your feelings; your emotional connections to others, to the universe, and to life itself. It is the place where integrations of opposites occur – male and female, dark and light, mind and body. This is where your sense of connection, your oneness with all things comes from. The 4th Chakra is the place of communication between yourself and those you love. It contributes to self-esteem, caring, integrity, affinity, and emotional healing. On a higher level this is the Chakra of inner wisdom and knowledge. It is the center where the ability to transform your life lies. For those who are seekers, the opening of this Chakra is essential – it is through this Chakra you will meet your “guides” and “teachers” that will help you in and on your journey.
Ideally the Heart Chakra allows us to love deeply, feel compassion, and have a profound sense of place and centeredness, openness and contentment. The heart chakra is the center of compassion, when the heart is open, you transcend the limits of people, plants, animals – of all of life. This is the humanitarian center
When this Chakra is congested you may experience a sensation of being out of balance or have feelings of indecision and self-consciousness. You may feel unworthy love and can't reach out due to being terrified of rejection. You may find a need for constant reassurance.
When over-stimulated you may place more concern on the well being of others to the detriment of yourself. Or you may become demanding, overly critical, possessive, moody, or melodramatic.
When this Chakra is unbalanced it can lead to repression of love and a focus on the needs of self. Being paranoid, feeling sorry for yourself, indecisiveness, and being afraid of letting go and being free are other feelings it can bring. Physical manifestations of this imbalance include heart and circulatory problems.
A blocked Heart Chakra usually manifests as emotional instability and/or breakdowns.
Keeping the 4th Chakra healthy and balanced will bring divine & unconditional love, forgiveness, compassion, and understanding. It allows peace, acceptance, and harmony. It brings oneness with life and connection with the group consciousness. Empathy, humanitarianism, seeing the good in everyone, and desire to nurture others comes from this Chakra. It will reflect healthy and balanced love in the Aura.
