The CROWN Chakra or SAHASTRARA

This Chakra relates to consciousness as pure awareness. It is our connection to the greater world beyond, to a timeless, spaceless place of all knowing. Through this Chakra is our connection with our higher self as well as to the divine. It is associated with wisdom and brings the integration of our eternal self with our current self. This is where the information from the 3rd Eye comes from; it is where all knowledge from the universe is drawn. This center is also referred to as the "Thousand Petalled Lotus" and functions to maintain a continuity of consciousness. It is the receiver of spiritual energy from cosmic sources, and processes energy flowing up from the lower chakras. It vitalizes the upper brain (cerebrum) to allow the free flow of energy to and from the source. It is the unification of the Higher Self with the human personality.
Ideally this Chakra brings knowledge, wisdom, understanding, spiritual connection, and bliss. You will be able to experience spiritual truth and certainty through your own divine will, become a miracle worker, one that can transcend the laws of nature and receive total access to the unconscious and the subconscious. It allows oneness with the infinite, perception beyond space and time, and continuity of consciousness. This is where a sense of unity and wholeness of all things and the interconnecting relationships that exist between all things is acquired.
When this Chakra is congested you can feel confused, depressed, or have uncertainty about things in your life. You believe there is no spark of joy, feel catatonic, can’t make decisions, experience lack of memory, and diminished concentration. Feeling misunderstood, shame, self-denial, negative self-image, and lacking tenderness are other indications of congestion.
Over-Stimulation can bring about a disconnection with reality, a loss of grounding. You may experience the need to feel popular and indispensable, and need sympathy.
When unbalanced this Chakra can bring lack of inspiration, confusion, alienation, or a hesitation to serve. There may be a constant sense of frustration and unrealized power, depression, feeling misunderstood, expressing a low self image, inability to maintain relationships, and self-denial. Physical problems can include brain problems, frequent migraines, problems with alcohol, and senility.
A block in the 7th Chakra disrupts or prevents the flow of spiritual energy in either direction. You are rendered incapable of drawing upon the sources of knowledge and your own divinity. Life can become stagnant and meaningless. All the possibilities for spiritual growth will cease and the physical body will eventually die when this Chakra is blocked.
Keeping the Crown Chakra healthy and balanced will allow Spiritual will, inspiration, divine wisdom and understanding, idealism, and selfless service. It releases information from our higher self to our physical body. This opening to divine energy, total access to the unconscious, can transcend the laws of nature. The Aura will reflect this peace, refinement, joyful love of beauty, and spirituality.
