I just received a great CD that you might like if you are on the shamanic path. 'The Serpent's Lair' by Steve Roach and Byron Metcalf is a 2-CD set of shamanic meditation music. Recommended by Tom MacEowen in 'The Mist-Filled Path' for just such work. This CD (and all Roach's other works) can be found at www.projekt.com. On the insert... 'In shamanic traditions, the snake is viewed with sacred reverence, symbolizing the process of death and rebirth. As the serpent sheds its skin, it leaves behind that which is outgrown or no longer of use, quietly preparing to move into a new life. Beginning as a collaboration between Roach and Metcalf, the music on 'The Serpent's Lair' evolved over the past year into an epic 2-CD set, augmented with a myriad of guests. For those familiar with Roach's work, this release has it all... as Steve's ultra-soundworlds, hybrid grooves and magical production combine with Byron's acoustic-organic tribal trance patterns. Just like the shamanic initiate who journeys within to find his source of power and transformation - like the snake shedding its skin - Roach and Metcalf's path gives listeners an aural journey deep into the ever-evolving musical metamorphasis of 'The Serpent's Lair'.Anyone else have any other music they recommend for this work or meditation work in general?

theres a band here in australia called Walisuma. theyre...actually, i dont know what they are...south american, i guess. i discovered them playing at our local markets, and they played at shoppinjg centres. i dont know how shamanic they are, but they play things like mandolins and drums and lots of different wooden flutes...i love them, they are very relaxing to listen to..heres an exerpt from one of their covers. the FIRE within drives our passion it consumes, yet sheds light, on the road of life. its counterpart WATER egulfs demanding fluidity. it quenches our thirst and helps us on the road of adaption with the universal desire of man, to attain happiness, unity and understanding irrespective of traditional differences. the traditions of our EARTH consequentlylie with our ability to attain nourishment through the contact of our roots with the soil. these three sacred elemtents grant out spirit the capacity to soar throught the AIR allowing us the power of flight, giving usa glimpse into a sacred world, a place not too far away, yet illusive. a place we call..the playground of the condor. out of the blue, from our spirit to yours WALISUMA de los Andes. you can go here to listen to some songs... www.isound.com/walisuma
