alrighty... Firstly sorry for the long absense..but I've been consumed with real world woes of working and trying to obtain a college education. also for anyone interested my myspace acct..at least my old one got deleted somehow for anyone interested my new one is www.myspace.com/undyingcirclestaff Feel Free to add me.
Now secondly, the purpose of this post is that of saddness and confusion as a Christo-Pagan..or maybe really as a Pagan Mystic :-Dwho deals in Jesus Worshipping and Gnosticism..I've ran into some more trouble *Dont Worry John I don't need your help this time..lol its not fellow intolerant Pagans I had my run in with its Christians who cant think for themselves with out their KJV Bible*
Ive been back on the internet for only a few weeks now..and I was invited by a fundie "Friend" I say friend because we went to high school together and occassionally would hang out. anyway he invited me to his Forum with was geared towards apostolic Christians..however they claimed to be religiously tolerant. yet when I would counter their posts with my theorys and blogs *some of them new -- and some of them still featured on this forum* I got accused of basicly being intolerant myself I guess..which if you know me..you know was not my intentions..my intentions were to simply get people to think for themselves/ but Iguess in this modern era Free Thinking is a sin now?
here is my beef; Why is it that Me and fellow Christian-Pagans(Insert whatever term here Witch,Wiccan,Mystic ect.) and other Wiccans, Witches and Pagans are constantly being beraided and forced to question their beliefs by "born-agains" yet when one of us logically brings up counter points to try to get them to think a little bit..all of a sudden its a different story..its okay for them to make us answer for our beliefs..but we cannot make them think critically about thei own?..to me this is a HUGE Double Standard.
I told the OWner of the group and my "friend" that: why is it that we *as non-christians* have to always defend our positions but Christians on the other hand when asked to think about it a lil bit can't stand the heat so they get outta the kitchen? it seems like a double-standard to me.
To Which his reply was: your problem is you just like to make waves
everywhere.
me: no, I like to make people think thats it
nothing more nothing les. well make people think and also realize that we're not all so different and we have certain shared beliefs..for w/e reason....and that we're not "so different" but to think mostly
Him: thats called "making waves"
Me: so free thinking is a "sin" now?
Him: you do it cause you can i didnt call it sin
Me: no I do it because I think people need to stop being s oo nieve
I just dont understand where Christians get off thinking they are*Above* having to re-evaulteing their beliefs and stances..if people don't evolve..spiritually or mentally..then they become dorment, unfulfilled and stagnate
Him: we are the majority dude DUH! we outrule you
Me: so that means nothing
Him: ya it does that means YOUR efforts will get ALOT LESS of us thinking because as the majority we can shut you up
Me:just because theres more people--that should mean they should be held at a higher standard to re-evaulate their beliefs and to evolve
My point is I guess....is that no one is the "main-stream" believes *well not everyone but you know what I mean* why are they afraid to openly question their beliefs but yet they force us too? I wonder what they would actually do if forced to think outside the bible for a change?..
Needless to say I have came back here to re-charge my batteries..and rejuvinate my soul..cause if not if I have to keep dealing with these type of people Goddess forbid I might lose faith in Humanity.
Also, I figured I could dig out some of my new posts and go back to trying to make people think like I always do..atleast I saw that I was missed..lol
