OK guys, we've moved into another season for sure this time. Not long ago I met a new freind named Gothikk, and she's been helping me with some computer ideas. She has made a site, which is ready for everyone to move into after we fine tune, provided everyone likes the idea. We're gonna work on the site so it is easier to navigate than this one is. The reason Gothikk and I are going in halves in this site (besides the obvious reason being that I SUCK at this) is that she sees things us and her as being able to help one another. Gothikk is an artist and our site can help her promote, in turn she brings us users, and she also understands google, shes very knowledgable and as we all know thats what we've been looking for...SO...W/O further adue, here is the site... PaganMystics.gothikk.net www.gothikk.net gothikk.net Tell me your thoughts on the site, baring in mind that the background on the new site can be costomized to your liking...(Its fancy lol) Like the idea? Don't like it? This is a community decision!

wow..just had a look..i love the way it looks and all, but..i love this place too!!! what would happen here? and can u transfer all the topics or do we start over? Well Senbecc would be able to answer your questions about the community itself better than I could answer it. As far as I know, it's going to be the same community that you love and enjoy. As far as what will happen here ..... Senbecc will have to answer that. Transferring topics or posts is not possible. I've been to the proboards faq and found this: [glow=red,2,300] Q: Can I have a copy of my ProBoards database so I can convert it to some other service? I want to keep all my posts/members/etc.
A: This is not possible. ProBoards is setup to use a proprietary database format and transferring it is not possible. While we do make backups of your boards, we can not provide the end user with this information as it is intended for use by ProBoards staff to restore forums to a previous state, and not to transfer to another service. [/glow] This means, nothing can be transferred to any personal servers. I know, it seems like a lotta work to just walk away from. One advantage about moving to a different server is that the posts CAN be transferred if the forum decides to ever move again, without interrupted postings. I hope I've answered the questions well enough for you, if not please feel free to smack me and ask me to explain better. *smiles*

I think we and the other mods will have to work that out, while the topics themselves can be moved (via cut n paste) much would be lost. Not nessisarily the work, that can be moved into the other site...However the hard fact of the matter I think is that the "home" would need to be rebulit by it's community.

thats what i mean, i love this place, and dont want anything to be lost along the way...while the new place looks great, this one just seems more homey...but given time i guess that'd change, with some refurnishing... and thanks gothikk, u were helpful tho it sucks that we cant just take everything from here and move it in to the new home and the only thing with the site-just to be a pain i love the banner we have here...could we put that on the new one as well, or not?

I actually was planning on taking the banner from here and creating a new theme for the site with it, so it'd all match the original banner. The new site however, allows each member to choose his or her own theme or look they want for the site. There is no standard one that everyone has to use. But I do intend to create one to reflect the atmosphere of this site, to help you all feel a lil more at home.

Ok, Well, someone wants me to post my opinion... I didn't want to have an opinion.... lol,
The truth is, there are many pro's and con's to moving... You need to be prepared for those... members will be lost, threads and memories forgotten about... The promotion time that has been put into this site, lost, you'll have to start over...
Not to mention the hours that will go into building the new site, moving topics if you will be doing that...
I'm speaking from experience... I've built groups, lost groups, rebuilt groups...
You leave a piece of yourself behind during every move.....
