Why is it that around the holidays people get so rude? It seems like every store that I go in to you end up getting pushed and shoved...and then get an attitude by the person who just banged into YOU. In our Toys 'r' Us, I was checking out prices on toys for my kids, I had my 4 year old with me, well this woman comes by, pushes past us and knocks my little one to the ground..Then procedes to tell me off, I could have moved out of her way (mind you my back was to her). I would have loved to push her into a shopping cart and send it down the aisle. ;D Fought that urge, and the one to tell her where to go. After that we went into the Pathmark, again getiing shoved... How can one keep the holiday spirit with all of these rude people around? Atleast, on the positive side, at the Kmart the salesgirl couldn't be more helpful. I couldn't find a Bratz doll my daughters wanted, so she went to check to see if there were more in the back. And when there wasn't, she checked to see when more were getting shipped. I wish there were more people like her today.

Although around the holiday season towardsa the christian xmas i find people to be in a better mood.

I think people get worse the closer Christmas gets, a desperation sets in! Even the servers in restaurants are crabbier. I just keep saying, Happy Yule, which really confuses them!>^..^<

When I was in the wheelchair, people used to cut in front of me in line, hit me in the face with shopping bags, and literally push me out of the way. Then, they would look at me like 'what are you doing down there anyway'. The worst was a retail clerk who told my husband to 'put her over there and I'll show you where it is'. I told him to bend over so I could punch him in the nose...

Wren, that's horrible. I wouldn't blame you if you had punched that sales person.
Hey Stormcat, I think I'll do that also. See how many people I can confuse.
Given that Marcus said that peolpe are nicer this time of year in Ireland, I'm guessing this must be an "American" thing.
I'm dreading having to finnish Christmas shopping....I can't even stand to do grocery shopping in December. And I love to shop.

More people are out dragging there screaming monsters behind them, husbands and children! If my 23 mo. granddaughter even seems cranky she and daddy stay home. I can't stand her high pitched scream Wren, my older granddaughter gets stared at by adults and children, wish I could turn on the power chair and let her go.........> ;D Happy Yuletide away we go!>^..^<

When I used to take my kids out shopping, the first order of business was a soft pretzel. When that was gone and they began to get cranky, I went home. Its not fair to the kids to push them past endurance limits for shopping and damned selfish, too!
As for the wheelchair, just run over a few toes and smile innocently!

Oh trust me my friend she would run over small children and little animals everywhere if she could! Her chair has a control switch to prevent "accidents." She had a switch she could activate that said "Get out of my way!" Her parents deactivated it, she used it to much!!! She's got the Yule spirit though, smiling and laughing.>^..^<
