NPR (National Public Radio) started this up again after about 25 years. You state what you believe... I'd like to know what all of you believe...
And, I believe there are probably a few I forgot to mention...
* *
I believe that happiness is a choice and I choose to be happy.
I believe you can live an eternity in one moment rather than waste a lifetime.
I believe in the kind of long, slow, wet kisses as described in the movie ‘Bull Durham’.
I believe in that love can be passionate, true and last forever.
I believe in the power of laughter to cure ills and change the world.
I believe that poetry, intelligence and passion are sexy.
I believe that anyone and everyone has the right to love who they will and live with whomever they love.
I believe that everything is ensouled, that the world is a living being and that we are guests here on this planet.
I believe in the Ancestors, the Spirits of Nature and the Shining Ones.
I believe that history and mythology rest on one another and there are lessons in the past, present and future for all of us.
I believe in the seed in the harvest, the bird in the egg, the pearl within the shell, the aura of the candle flame, the miracles that are right there before me, and the Creator living in each of us.
I believe that, for me, religion has become spirituality, a personal understanding of the greater force of love in this world we inhabit and the faith to believe that very love is stronger than hatred and prejudice and illness.
I believe that you are free to believe in anything you wish… or not to.
I believe I have a kinship with people I will never meet, who face the same daily challenges I do and who inspire me to face them with dignity.
I believe in always seeing the world from a new perspective, taking time to not only stop and smell the roses but grow and nurture them..
I believe there is a cure for every disease on this planet, if we have the patience and the compassion to find them.
I believe there is enough food and medicine to go around, if we learn to share.
I believe there is joy to be found, respect to be offered, always something to learn and beauty everywhere, if we open our eyes and our hearts to them.
